Vacci-Dating: Is this your best shot at love?

Singles all over the world have been waiting for the day they get to finally go out on a normal date. Dating quickly went from speed dating to slow dating when the first lockdown hit the globe in 2020. The newest dating trend, Vacci-Dating, is giving hope to singles looking for love. It's the newest compatibility question: Are you, or do you plan to be vaccinated? The answer will determine whether you score a first date. But are we oversharing?

Some argue that covid open communication should be considered the same way you would talk to a potential sexual partner about the precautions you’re taking to prevent sexually transmitted infections; however, that conversation would typically happen a few dates in– not before you've even had the chance to meet. 'Hot girl summer' has turned into 'shot girl summer' and most of us are just excited to leave our homes without the fear of a deadly virus. Online apps and matchmaking services are now asking singles if they've been vaccinated, and if they feel comfortable meeting singles in person (outdoors for now).

When considering whether to meet up with someone who is vaccinated vs. unvaccinated, vaccinated does seem safer. Regardless, singles should still be cautious while dating as a vaccine dose doesn’t equal automatic protection.
